The season of fashion events is back to a new cycle, and one of the events that will kick start it is the FNO or Fashion’s Night Out. This global initiative is one way for the public and fashion lovers to attend organized events where they can find out the trends that brands/stores are preparing to present to the public and splurge on some special fashion pieces. All this for a good cause as proceeds from FNO events also go to help charities/causes such as the AIDS foundation and the Kids Company.
There seems to be interesting buzz about this upcoming Fashion’s Night Out events on September 10th 2010, especially the one in NYC, although several other Fashion’s Night Out events will be held around the world like Japan, France, UK, and India. Plus on September 7th, there will be a show at the Lincoln Center in NYC, hosted by Andre Leon Talley (Vogue’s Editor-at-Large, who to my surprise is also on twitter @OfficialALT). BUT……Since the show is sponsored by American Express, it is a card-member only viewing event with designer discussion. But if you can’t register or attend, you can always catch the FNO Show from the Lincoln Center at CBS.com.
For more information on this event, go to http://www.fashionsnightout.com/, the website gives you information about the locations, designers, all the local and international retailers attending, other cities around the world hosting the event, travel deals if you plan to go to NYC for the events, and an itinerary to help you plan this fashion night. Overall, the concept is one way to help the fashion industry and its retailers, charity/causes, and…. well yourself with great style– So should be worth it!
